While the result meant United picked up their first league point of the 2025-26 season, a troubling statistic soon emerged after the full-time whistle sounded. Since the start of April, Leicester City – who now play in the Championship following last season's relegation from the Premier League – have earned more top-flight points (8) than United's six. Amorim's side have also amassed fewer points than all other ever-present Premier League sides in that same period.

United, who finished 15th in what was their lowest ever finish in the Premier League in 2024-25, have spent big on Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko this summer, but it has been a slow start to the campaign for Amorim's new-look attack as they continue to search for their first competitive goals for the club.
