As a National League side, Wrexham started their FA Cup campaign in the fourth qualifying round last term. They made it to the fourth round proper, seeing off Championship outfit Coventry along the way, before coming unstuck in a memorable meeting with Sheffield United that required a replay in order to find a winner.

Phil Parkinson’s men have reached the same stage in 2023-24, after edging out local rivals Shrewsbury in round three, and saw hard-working frontman Dalby provide another assist in that contest. He teed up Thomas O’Connor for the only goal of the game at The Croud Meadow – with that effort hitting the back of the net via the aid of a deflection.

DID YOU KNOW?

Dalby is not always guaranteed starts at Wrexham, as the likes of Mullin and Steven Fletcher lead the line, but he can be relied upon to contribute when given game time. Nobody – dating back to the start of the 2022-23 FA Cup campaign – can claim to have bettered his return of 10 goal involvements (four goals and six assists).

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

That is an impressive record for Dalby, given that some Premier League superstars have been filling their boots, and he will be hoping to help Wrexham go further than they managed 12 months ago – while also continuing with their push for promotion into League One.
